Meet the Deloaches

I’ve tried time and time again to convince my sister to visit me during the summer.  I believe Seattle has the best summers in the world.  Long days.  Warm, not hot, temperatures.  And a city full of people who have been waiting for 8 months to go outside.  This time she got a little closer and visited me in the spring.  Lucky for us, most of the days were pleasant.

Adding to the fun, this time she decided to bring here whole family for their first trip to Seattle.  Granted, Sabrina is only 9 months old, but it’s still a milestone.

Side Note:  I have the cutest niece in the world!  Now, I know everyone says that about their kids/family.  And I generally get annoyed when people tell me this and then show me endless pictures of their little tykes.  But this is different, I actually *do* have the world’s cutest niece.  So let’s get back to the story and endless pictures of the little tyke.

Entertaining a family with a baby was definitely a new challenge for me.  Movie theaters are out.  And during day events, it’s best to not wear your best shirt as Bri may decide to mark her turf with a little spit-up.  But what was great about it was that I gave me an excuse to do a lot of things around Seattle that I’ve wanted to do for a while.  Like check out the Zoo.  Seriously, I’ve been here for years and had never been.  And who knew it was so big.

And of course we did our usual round of fine dining.  The featured dinner for this trip was at the Space Needle.  Sadly, the meal was quite disappointing.  We expected to pay through the nose for the view (which was spectacular.  The restaurant rotates giving you the full view of the city over the course of dinner).  But I would have expected that the food would have matched the quality of well respected if not top-notch restaurant in the city.  It fell way short.

But why dwell on the negative.  Here are more shots from the week.
